Vice-Regal. His Excellency the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Executive Council yesterday, and subsequently presided at the annual meeting of the T. G. Macarthy board of trusteed Ministerial. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister, attended a meeting of the Executive Council yesterday, later being present at the annual meeting of the Board of Governors'of the T. G. Macarthy Trust. He was engaged with Ministers and departmental heads for the remainder of the day. The Hon. R. Masters, Minister of Education, is expected to return to Wellington from Stratford this evening. The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, returned to Wellington from Dannevlrke yesterday. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture and Mines, will leave on a visit to the West Coast and Christchurch this evening. He will return to Wellington next Sunday morning. Dr. E. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, left en route for Rotorua by the Limited express last evening. Mr. E. T. Spidy, Government superintendent of railway workshops, left for Auckland by the Limited express last evening. Mr. G. Hunt, Mr. N. Wade and Mr. S. G, Stephens, Auckland; Mr. F. Pepper. Wanganui; and Mr. R. Stark, Oamaru, are at the Grand Hotel, Mr. F. Weutwortb-Slater is expected to arrive in Wellington to-day from Wanganui, in preparation for the annual competitions. He is to judge tlie vocal sections.
