Difference Over Rules DECISION OF UNION Equalising for Injured By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Dunedin, August 15. At a meeting of the management committee of the Otago Rugby Union to-night a letter was received from the Otago Boys’ High School stating that in connection with the high schools’ tourney to be played at Dunedin next week the Christchurch High School Insisted on the replacement of injured players and that the Timaru High School supported it in its attitude. It was decided to advise the Otago High School that as the matches m the tournament will be played under the rules of the English Rugby Union, and that as these rules are accepted by the New Zealand Union, the committee cannot grant permission to teams taking part in the tournament to replace injured players. It was also decided that the committee did not countenance a player of one team being sent off to equalise matters where a player was Injured and had to leave the field. It was further resolved to instruct the union’s delegates to the special meeting in Wellington on August 18 to oppose the reintroduction of the klck-into-touch rule.
