German Championships (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-Copyright.) Hamburg, August 14. At the German tennis championships in the final of the men’s singles von Ch-nnim defeated Menzel, 3—6, 6—2, 6—2, 6—3. In the doubles Crawford and Hopman defeated Hughes and Lee, 7—5, 6—3, 3—6, 6—3. Mlle. Payot defeated Fraulein Krahwinkel, 6—2, I—6, 6—4, in the final of the women’s singles. In the final of the mixed doubles Fraulein Krahwlnkel and von Cramm defeated Miss Betty Nuthall and Lee, 9—7, 5—7, 6—3. In the final of the women’s doubles Frauleins Krahwinkel and Peitz defeated Misses Heeley and Stammers. 6—3, 6—2. EASTERN U.S. TOURNEY New York, August 14. At the Eastern tennis championships at Rye, the final of the doubles was won by Lester Stoeffen and Sidney Wood, who defeated Keith Gledhill and Henry Gulley, 6—l, 11—9, 6—2. In the final of the singles Sutter defeated Mangin, 6—4, 4—6, 6—3, QUEENSLAND SINGLES Brisbane, August 14. In the final of the Queensland singles tennis championship Moon beat the youthful Sydney player McGrath, 7_5 ( 6_3, fl_2.
