RUGBY FOOTBALL
Upper Hutt v. St. Patrick’s Friendly Rugby football matches in aid of gymnasium funds were arranged between Upper Hutt teams and teams from St. Patrick’s College, Silverstream, last Saturday afternoon. At Maidstone Park the Upper Hutt first team played St. Patrick’s first team, Upper Hutt winning by 20'points to 3 points. Tries were scored by Charles, McKegney, Campbell and Potts. Three were, converted by Douglas and one by Anderson. O’Dea scored for St. Patrick’s. The referee was Mr. Edwards. At Quinn’s Post ground Upper Hutt second team defeated St. Patrick’s second team by 11 points to 8. Mr. O. Plummer was referee. Upper Hutt third team defeated St. Patrick’s third team by 11 points to 6 points at St. Patrick’s, Silverstream. Father Kingan was referee.
