WOBURN CROQUET CLUB

President Gives Afternoon Tea Last Wednesday afternoon the president of the Woburn Croquet Club, Mrs. Monks, gave an afternoon to bid farewell to Mrs. J. C. Hiddleston, who is leaving the district, and to do honour to Mrs. K. Jensen, who was runner-up in the handicap singles, in the recent Wellington tournament. During the afternoon the following competitions were held: —Hurry-scurry, Mesdames Hiddleston and Alexander; golf, Mrs. Peck; angles, Mrs. Cleland; and target, Mrs. Jensen. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion, the tables being decorated with autumn leaves and dahlias. The president referred to the good qualities of the guests, and presented each with a posy of flowers. The president was also presented with a bouquet by one of the members, Mrs. Quin.
