Accident to Motor-car Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, March 26. Through the car in which he was riding as a passenger slipping into a water-table and becoming jammed against a bridge, Kahurangi Hikawera, well known as Jack August, was crushed, and later died from his injuries. August, a Maori residing at Waitotara, was 20 years of age, married, and without family. He was riding in the front seat of a car driven by Mr. John Parker. The accident occurred about six miles from Waitotara, on the Wanganui road. The Injured man was taken to the “Wanganui Hospital, where he died.
