Merino Prices Decline AVERAGE FOR SEASON (Rec. December 14/11.5 p.m.) Sydney, December At to-day’s Sydney wool sales 11,751 bales were offered and 9770 sold by auction, also 1603 privately. Prices for Merinos of all descriptions declined 10 per cent. There was good coinpetition, chiefly from Yorkshire, with limited support from Japan and the Continent. Merino fleece wool sold to lod a pound. Brokers report that the average price on the Sydney market up to the present stage of the current season is £ll/3/9 per bale or 8.6 d a pound.
