FARADAY CENTENARY
Demonstration To-night To mark the centenary of the epochmaking discoveries of the great English scientist, Michael Faraday, a special public demonstration of electrical developments will be given at Victoria College this evening. The demonstration, which will be under the auspices of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Society of. Civil Engineers and the Institute of Electrical Engineers, has been arrnhged with the co-operation' of the Victoria College authorities and the Post and Telegraph Department. The demonstration and lectures, which will begin at 7.45 p.m. sharp, will be divided into three sections. Mr. W. H. Gregory, engineer in charge of the Waikaremoana hydro-electric station, will deal with Faraday’s early work; Professor Floranco will discuss and demonstrate the principal discoveries made since Faraday’s day; and Mr. A. Gibb, chief telegraphic engineer of the Post and Telegraph Department, will deal with modem developments along special lines. The demonstrations will be continued in the university laboratories after the addresses, and for all who have any interest in the subject the evening should be most instructive and entertaining.
