Hawke’s Bay Championship MISS GAISFORD WINS By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, September 3. The final of the Hawke’s Bay ladies’ open golf championship was decided cn i the Waiohiki links this afternoon. Miss Gaisford (Masterton) beat Miss RobertI son (Dannevirke), 7 up and 6 to play. Waiohiki Women’s Event Dominion Special Service. Napier, September 2. Playing In the qualifying rounds for the Waiohiki Ladles’ Golf Club’s annual tournament, Miss B. Gaisford, the prominent ■ Manawatu and Rangltlkel golfer, registered a 75 in the morning round of the qualifying round, the best score recorded on the course since the adoption of tho standard’ scratch score. Her good play enabled her to head the qualifying list, and on her form she Is favoured for ' tho cbaniplonship, which title she won last year. Mainly due to Miss Galsford's 75, Manawatu retained the cup donated by Mrs. F. Ormond by one stroko from Napier A. Detailed scores are as follow:— Manawatu: Miss B. Gaisford 75, Miss Baldwin 93, Miss Dudding 99, Miss Kearns 101. Total, 368. Napier A: Miss O. Smith 89, Mrs. Clark 91, Miss White .94, Mrs. Tareha 95. Total, 3G9. The Perry Cup resulted la a tie between Miss Pharazyn and Miss Weber, with net 73’s. The cup was awarded to Miss Pharazyn on the score on the second half of the card. South Taranaki Tournament Record entries were received for the South Taranaki ladles’ golf tourney, which commenced on Wednesday at Hawcra. Miss K. Robertson, Taranaki and South Taranaki champion, will defend the latter title, and other prominent players are: Mrs. R. Grace and Miss Currie (Wanganui), and Mrs. Casey (Eltham), winner of tho Coronation Medal and Aotea-Roa Cup. Feilding v. Dannevirke Fending, September 3.
