BOXING AT BLENHEIM
Wellington Men’s Successes By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, September 2. What was practically a boxing tournament between Wellington and Marlborough took place to-night, when eight Wellington fighters took part in a contest under the auspices of the Marlborough Boxing Association. The following are the results (Wellington being mentioned first) :— W. Hedberg (9.1) knocked out T. Graham (9.9) in the first round; R. Cbalkcn (10.9) beat G. Mclsaac (10.5); R. Webb (8.0) lost to Rayner (7.12); Carbon (9.6) lost to C. Rayner (9.0) after four willing rounds; H. Thomas, New Zealand lightweight champion (9.2), beat J. Simonsen (9.9) after four hard rounds; J. Mansfield (10.6) beat P. Watson (10.1) ; W. BeUish (11.8) beat R. Smart (10.13) ; J. Sjoberg (11.5) lost to J. Tierney (11.12) in the best bout of the night Mr. L. C. Cotter was referee.
