CAPSIZE AND FIRE
Five-seater Car Destroyed ACCIDENT NEAR HASTINGS By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, August 30. After leaving the road and capsizing on the Hastings side of Clive bridge, a five-seater car, driven by Miss, Jocelyn Riddiford, of Wellington, with Miss Margaret Whyte, also of Wellington, as a passenger, caught fire and was totally destroyed on Saturday afternoon. Both Miss Riddiford and Miss Whyte saved their baggage and escaped with nothing more severe than shock.
Advice concerning the accident is to the effect that a burst tire threw the car off the road.
