SOCIAL ACTIVITY
Upper Hutt Dance ♦A successful dance was given by the Upper Hutt Plunket Society last Friday night. The Record Hall, which was lent by Mr. A. J. McCurdy, was decorated with lypcopodium and ferns, and coloured streamers were stretched across the ceiling. A large number of people was present, many coming from,Trentham, Heretaunga and Silverstream. The Kit-Kat Dance Band supplied the music, and supper was dispensed by the committee. Knox Ladies’ Guild ' The ladles of Knox Church, Lower Hutt, held another of their enjoyable social afternoons last week. Mrs. McCaw took the, opportunity to thank all who worked, and gave' so generously, for the recent thrift sale. Mrs. Hay sang two songs, and musical parcels caused much fun, Mrs. Hadfield carrying off the prize, while Mrs. Hodgeman was successful In a ping-pong competition. The hostesses for the afternoon wore Mesdames Edlneads. .Tarvle, Teal, Edmeades,.Woodman, and Whitcher.
