FOOTPATH AT TAITA
Useful Relief Work A few days ago attention was drawn to the efforts being made by the Rev. Davies, Anglican minister of the parish of Taita, to get a footpath along the side of the main Hutt Road from the Taita i School ito Mr. Ronine’s, a distance of about two miles. It wa& mentioned that all the residents in the district, as well as a number l who livd outside it but use , the road frequently, are unanimously in favour Of the proposal. Besides being of real service to the community in obviating the dangers on a very much used road, it was considered that the construction Of the footpath would afford employment to a large number of men for a fairly lengthy period. The Rev. Davies informed a “Dominion” r-norter that he hoped, in a few days, to have a deputation to the Minister of Public Works. Hon. W. B. Taverner.
