The Masterton branch of the Women’s National Welfare League is writing to the Wairarapa Hospital Board suggesting that now a resident medical officer has been appointed to the Masterton Hospital, an out-patients’ day should be instituted. At a meeting of the branch last wefik it was stated that many new necessitous cases had come before the welfare committee. The committee had attended 40 cases last month and had given meat and groceries, irlt was decided to set aside a sum of money each mouth to be used by the committee Torurgent cases of distress.
