BRILLIANT CONCERT

Their Excellencies Attend

The Town Hall presented a warm and festive appearance on Saturday on the occasion of the opening concert of tho Peter Dawson-Mark Hainbourg season. These two famous artists attracted an audience that completely filled the hall. Much enthusiasm was displayed, and the repeated requests for further numbers kept the artists busy until nearly 11 o’clock. , z. . „ Their Excellencies the Governor-Gen-eral, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe, accompanied, by Lady Ndrah Jellicoe, Mrand Mrs. Cecil Day, Sir John Hanham and Lieutenant J. Elworthy, R.N., were present. Lady Bledisloe wore a soft georgette frock of lettuce green under a richlybrocaded coat of green and gold which was finished with a white fox fur collar. Lady Norah Jellicoe under her brown fur coat wore a scarlet lace frock and short coat Mrs. Cecil Day was wearing a black frock over which was worn a red cape with wolf collar. During t|ie concert Mrs. Peter Dawson and Mrs. Hambourg arrived. The former was wearing a heavy gold lace frock umjer a very attractive short sable fur coat, and. the latter wore a black georgette frock under a brown fur coat. Noticeable features were tho green floral decorations by the stage, the warm fed carpet placed for their Excellencies, and the brilliant large satin Union Jack spread across the centre platform.
