Mrs. Teagle received her guests in a powder-blue French crepe-de-cbine frock her sister, Mrs. Griffiths, was in beige lace, and Miss Spurr, another sister, wore a frock of brown lace. There were many competitions; the first, guessing the names of boys and girls, was won by Mrs. Lees, senr., Mrs. Eddy winning second prize. Mrs. Kennington came first in the ring game, and Mrs. King won the second prize. The first prize for table croquet was won by Miss Wilkins, and the second by Mrs. Brookes. ■ Afternoon tea was served, and the rooms were gay with flowers, pink carnations in the drawing-room and yellow earnations in the dining-room.
