ADDITIONAL RETURNS Additional results of polling in other centres of the Dominion, according to "Dominion” Special and Press Association messages, are as follow: — Feilding.— Mayor, C. E. Taylor was re-elected unopposed. Borough representative on Manawa tu-Oroua Power Board, P. G. Guy, returned by a majority of 14 votes over J. S. Tingey. New borough councillors are: T. Collins, J. Corpe, D. C. Cullinane, E. Fair, G. Kilvington, A. H. Maquire, A. C. McCorkindal S. D. Pearce, and D. Pryde. Dannevirke. — Borough council, seven sitting councillors re-elected, also E. Gibbard, and Dr. C. S. Williams, new aspirants. Borough representatives on the Dannevirke Power Board: F. Craven and C. Hansard (re-elected) and T. H. R. Gillespie. Voodville. — The mayoral election resulted in the defeat of the retiring mayor. The voting was: John Elder, 275; H. P. Horne (retiring mayor), 247. The election for the nine councillors resulted:— C. A. Sutton 362, H. Galbraith 356, A. M. Pickering 338, F. D. Mackie 334, D. McGregor 320, J. Sullivan 314, R. R. Johnston 311, M. Phelan 306, J. Harding 262. The unsuccessful candidates were: —G. Waimate.— Mayoralty: G. Dash (reelected), 623: F. T. Wallace, 512. The Thursday half-holiday was retained by a big majority-. Ashburton. — Mayoralty: W. H. Woods (elected), 1214; R. Kerr (sitting mayor), 545. Mr. Kerr was returned with the old council. Dr. J. R. Wells was reelected borough representative on the Hospital Board. Rotorua. — After the keenest campaign and heaviest poll in the municipal history of Rotorua, the mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, was returned with a majority in excess of two to one over Mr. C. H. Clinkard, M.P. Five of the six retiring councillors supporting Mr. Jackson were also returned, Mr. A. W. Downer being defeated. The only sitting opponent, Mr. A. Smith, was also successful. A new councillor is Mr. H. Tai Mitchell. The successful councillors were G. Urquhart, N. T. Keane, W. Galbraith, E. T. Johnson. Albert Smith. Tai Mitchell, and G. I-I. Coleman. Taumanmui. — Mayoralty: C. A. Boles (re-elected). Council: S. Bishara, D. M. Simmons, J. Brown, A. T. Driffill J. E. Ward, N. A. Winter, M. Sarah, J. A. Clark, E. Managh. CLOSE AND EXCITING POLL Wanganui Mayoral Contest After the closest and most exciting poll in the history of Wanganui, Mr. N. G. Armstrong gained a majority of 30 votes over the Labour Mayor, Mr. W. J. Rogers. There are still about 200 votes by declaration to be counted. The totals are: Armstrong 4714, Rogers 4684.

There were twenty nominations for the twelve seats on the City Council. The results are as follow:—Hill 5193, Symes 5172, Jones 5163. Dickie 4901, Horsley 4883, Halligan 4791, Crowley 4738, Siddells 4666. Robertson 4628, Luxford 4445. Bennett 4378, O’Meara 4378. Only one Labour member was elected. For the Harbour Board, Hogan 5847, Patterson 5694, Millward 5602, Rogers 5286. Robertson 5065, Burgess 4883 were elected. . ml In the half-holiday issue Thursday was rejected in favour of Saturday by 5505 votes to 3686 votes. Of the harbour board loans the £40,000 loan was adopted by a majority of 647 over the two larger loans, which both had large majorities against them. For tlie Hospital Board. W. J. Rogers 5389, Mrs. Siddells 4934. C. W. Poynter 4498. Dr. M. Christie 4056 were elected. For the Wangnnui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board. J. Patterson 4940, J. Morrison 4809, Hope Gibbons 4730, and J. Robertson 4352 were elected.
