FASHIONABLE DANCE

Italian Consul’s Guests Signor Formichella, the Italian Consul, and Signora . Formichella, gave a very pleasurable dance at their residence, oCentral Terrace, last night. The two drawing-rooms were used, one being decorated with blue hydrangeas and the other with pink chrysanthemums. A most elaborate supper, consisting of quaint French savouries and sausage dishes, as well as rich cakes, was served. The table was adorned with a massive bowl of dark George Dickson roses. . Signora Formichella wore a graceful black lace frock with a cascading drape on one side. The guests/wcro received in one drawing-room by Signor and Signora Formichella, and dancing took place in the second drawing-room. Among those present were: . Major-General and Madam Merlin, the latter' in an artistic gown of black ring velvet cut in flowing lines. ‘Mr. J. AV. Dye, Consul for the United

States of America, and Mrs. Dye. whoso frock of floral printed chiffon was finished with a trim coatee. . Monsieur A. Nihotte, Consul for Bel-gium,'and-Madame Nihotte, who wore a flame red georgette frock of fashionable length. - - » Mr. and Mrs. 'Fothcrinsham. the latter in a wine lace robe - .with a small train. Dr. Craig and Mrs. Craig, wearing a gown of royal blue lace. . * ' Mr. L. A. Paish, British Trade Commissioner, and Mrs., Paish, who wore a delightful frock of various • shades of green. - , , . ’■ Mr. Kaula and Mrs. Kaula, gowned in handsome gold lace. .
