HUTT HIGH SCHOOL
Final Meeting of Board The final meeting of the present Hutt Valley High School Board of Governors was held last week. The Education Board suggested that application should be made to the Technical School for the loan of sewing machines. The department was willing to pay the salary, of a part-time teacher of dressmaking, but was unable to see its way to make any provision for workshops at the present time. It was also suggested by the department tliat the boys might later take woodwork classes at the Petone Technical School, when tho new workshops were erected there. Au examination of the school building has been made by a Pjiblic Works Department engineer, who reported to the secretary (Mr. H. P. Kidson) that its construction. from aii earthquake point of view, was satisfactory. The chairman of tho board (Mr. H. G. Teagle) thanked members for their close attention to the affairs of the board durin", their term of office. He thanked Mr. H Sladden for his expert assistance in the carrying out of improvements to the grounds under tlie No. 5 scheme, lie expressed his appreciation of the financial and other assistance received from the Parents’ Association.
