MOONSHINE ROAD BRIDGE
Question of Repairs
Bepairs to the bridge on Moonshine Boad are sought to be done by the Hutt County Council on a fifty-fifty basis with the Tipper Hutt Borough Council, according to a letter before the latter council at its meeting last night. The request was looked on by councillors as a very reasonable one, in view of ■ the similar arrangements that exist in the borough between the two local bodies. , ... It was remarked by the Mayor (Mr. P • Robertson) that this agreement was come to only after an exhaustive conference. “The agreement had to be forced from the Hutt Council. It was not. conceded freely. You must admit that. It was pointed out that the same question would apply in connection with bridges in Whiteman’s Valley, and it behoved the council to go carefully. It was decided to leave the matter with the works- committee to investigate and report.
