SUNSHINE FOLLOWS STORM
Yesterday’s Weather The morning broke line in Wellington yesterday after Sunday evening's southerly storm, and the sun shone brightly all day. The wind came from the south. Boisterous westerly weather with frequent rain squalls prevailed at Auckland yesterday. The barometer was rising slowly, and registered 29.55 in. The rain ceased at Christchurch early yesterday morning, and after threatening for a while the sky cleared, and the balance of the day was warm and sunny, with a fresh breeze from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 62 dog. The barometer was rising, last evening’s reading being 29.50. The weather continues unsettled in Dunedin. There was slight improvement in conditions on Sunday night, but there were frequent showers yesterday, with brief periods of sunshine. Wind still fresh from the south-west. The maximum temperature at noon was 60 degrees. The barometer is still low, but fairly steady, the reading this evening being 29.40 in.
