Marton Jockey Club Tribute Dominion Special Service z Marton, November 22. At a meeting of the committee of the Marton Jockey Club the chairman (Mr. It E. Beckett) referred in feeling terms to the death of Mr. E. H. Levett, who for a number of years had been an active member of the Marton Jockey Club, and in later years a life member. Just on fifty years ago—in 1882—Mr. .evett acted as honorary secretary for the Upper Tutaenui races at Greystoke, and bad always taken a keen interest in sport of all descriptions. , , Mr. Beckett also referred to the death of Mr. Alex. Hall, who prior to residing at Wanganui and Fordell, had resided at Marton for several years. As a trainer, jockey and owner he was widely known and respected throughout New Zealand, remarked Mr. Beckett. A vote of condolence to the relatives of the late Messrs. Levett and Hall was carried, members standing in silenee as a tribute to their memory.
