PAHIATUA NOTES
Pahiatua, July 25. Mr. and Mrs. D. Fraser, who have been residing at Maiigamutu for the past fifteen years, and who are leaving early next month to take up their residence at-Wai-kare (Hawke’s Bay), were farewelled on Wednesday evening by a large gathering of settlers and friends and presented with two handsome sets of cutlery. Messrs. Smith and Snell, of Masterton, are to visit Pahiatua on Tuesday next in connection with the recently-formed Rural Intermediate Credit Association. The Women’s Division of the Farmers Union held a successful social at Ballance on Wednesday evening. Mr. J. Watson, provincial secretary ot the Wairarapa branch of the Farmers Union, has been spending the past few days in the district engaged in organising work. „ „ , , During the absence from New Zealand of Mr. T. Moss, his position as member of the Wairarapa District Rural Intermediate Credit Board will bo filled by Mr. G. H. Hodd, president of the local branch of the Farmers’ Union. Mr. C. H. Arrow is on n visit to Wellington.
