MORE WIND AND CLOUDS Although the wind was not so boisterous, yesterday's weather was a repetition of the conditions of the previous three days—grey skies with a north-west wind. The skies last night were dull and threatening, but up to midnight the expected rain had not fallen. The long spell of line autumn weather came to an end at Auckland. Light but persistent showers fell during the morning, but the conditions were brighter In the afternoon. Last evening the barometer reading was 30.20 in. The weather at Christchurch was warm but dull till 3.30, when rain set in and continued though not heavily. The maximum temperature was 59 degrees. with light air from the northwest. The barometer was steady at 29.93. The long spell of dry weather was broken at Dunedin yesterday when a leaden sky in the morning Indicated a change, and rain began to fall about midday. The fall, however, was light and the intermittent wind was fresh from south-west. Conditions were warm in the morning, the temperature at 10 a.m. being 64 degrees. When the wind changed the temperature dropped to 50 degrees. The barometer, which fell rapidly on Wednesday, shows a rising tendency, last night’s reading being 29.90.
