INTOXICATED LORRY DRIVER
NO LICENSE FOR TWO YEARS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, December 27. Before the Magistrate, Mr. Harper, this morning, a lorry driver, Albert Edward Simpson, pleaded guilty to being found in charge of a lorry at an early hour in the morning while in a state of intoxication. The police stated that accused had been convicted of a similar offence in Auckland on May 18, 1927, and his license cancelled for two years. The Magistrate said the offence was serious and accused did not appear to take notice of the previous warning. Accused was fined £l5, his license was cancelled and he was declared unfit to hold a license for two years.
