WEDDING.

The wedding was solemnised at St. John's Church, Trentham, of Bessie Gladys, daughter of Mrs. J. Bell, of Christchurch, and David Stewart, eldest •son of Mr. 11. B. Boyd, of Seafield, Canterbury. The Rev. G. Kendrick conducted the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. C. J. Bell, was frocked in shell pink flowered ninon. Her pink veil was encircled with sprays of lily-of-the-valley. Bale pink roses and peas mingled with fern made a c uoice bouquet. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. A. N. Perham, as matron of honour, who were a frock of

cinnamon georgette, with crinoline hat, and carried a posy of pansies. Mr. V. Jervis fulfilled the duties of best man. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of Mrs. A. N. Perham, where the usual toast list was honoured.

Mrs. Bell, who received the guests, wore a navy blue crepe de chine ensemble. The wedding cake, made by a friend of the bride, attracted particular attention. A happy hour was spent prior to' tbe departure of the newly-married couple en route to the .Sounds. The bride travelled i in a fawn crepe de chine three-piece suit. Among the guests were the bridegroom’s father aud sisters, Mrs. B. Borman, and Miss M. Boyd, tb» two latter being attired respectively |i black crepe de chine and mole-coloured ensemble.
