PARRAMATTA REGATTA PEARCE CREATES NEW WORLD RECORD (Rec. November 24, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, November 24. At the annual regatta on the Parrematta River yesterday, Bob Pearce won the two thousand metres sculling championship of New South Wales in 6 minutes 40 seconds, a world’s record, which is 21 seconds better than the Olympic record. Pearce was never seen to 'treater advantage. The senior eight-oared championship was again won by the Dlosman crew. The distance was a mile. The junior eights, also the maiden fours, were won by Dlosman crews.
