The Magistrate’s Court was crowded this morning when the case against Arthur Robert Biondell, farmer, of Waimatua, who was charged with assaulting his nephew, George Henry Tweedale, aged .164 years, was continued before Mr. W. H.’AVoodward. Accused, who was represented by Mr- Gordon Read, had previously pleaded not guilty. The case was adjourned last week iu order th evidence of the Child Welfare Officer with regard to an interview between him and a younger brother of complainant might he taken. At the original hearing the Magistrate intimated that he would be willing to hear any further evidence that would enable hjin to determine who was telling the truth. After hearing further evidence the Magistrate convicted accused and imposed a fine of £lO.
