EKLUND DEFEATS GARDINI By Telegraph.—Frets Association. Dunedin, /November 2. The wrestling mutch between (JJarepce Eklund, light-heavyweight- champlop of the world, 12st, 121 b., and Maracci Gardint, the Italian-American light heavyweight champion, was Avon bv Eklund, who obtained a fall in (he fifth round of an eight-round contest. The winner shoAVcd superior ringcraft, and greater experience than his opponent, and <]id most of the attacking, but Gardini’s gameness was appreciatively recognised by the crowd. A gold medal offered by Eklund for the best amateur in the preliminary bouts was Avon b.V T, JValker. who “Farmer Vance, referee, remarked would make a good opponent for (he tvinner pf the amateur bqut§ at Auckland. PESEK DEFEATS SANTEL' (Rec. November 3, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne. November 3. In a wrestling match Pesek (13st. 91b.) defeated Santel (13st. 111 b.) in the third round after no fall had been obtained.
