FATHER O’LEARY
NEW DIRECTOR OF RIVERVIEW OBSERVATORY (Rec. October 31, 11.20 p.m.) Sydney, October 31. Father William O'Leary, of Ireland, arrived by the liner Naldera to-day to take the late Dr. Pigot’ splace as director and seismologist at Riverview Observatory. Father O’Leary stated: “Australia is looked upon as one of the really important seismographic stations in the world and the headquarters at Strasburg always looked for reports from Riverview, where the instruments are first-class.” He added that Australia being out of the Pacific coast zone, there was no need to fear earthquakes,
