MODEL FARMING METHODS

Mr. J. W. Deem, director of the fields division-, Department of Agriculture. Palmerston North, in the course of a lecture at Pahiatua, said the department was adopting a farms’ roll. A survey had been made of a large number of farms, and the best picked out in each district. The methods would be published in the department’s journal. The department had already found a farm in the Pahiatua district that was amongst the first three in New Zealand. Mr. Deem stressed the fact that tlie pounds of butter-fat per acre was always an important factor with the department.
