annual meeting. Foxton, August 3. The annual meeting of the Foxton Racing Club was held last night. There was a record attendance. Mr. W. E. Barber (president) presided. The annual report and balance-sheet, disclosing a very favourable year’s working, was adopted. Favourable comments were made by members at the change in racing dates which was effected last meeting. It was considered that the improved financial position was due to this. The election of officers resulted as follows’ Patron, Mr. F. Robinson; president,’Jfr. W. E. Barber; vice-presidents, Jfessrs. R. Bryant, H. Coley, W. T. Jewell and C. E. Robinson; stewards, Messrs. S. Jackson, M. B. Bergin, P. A. Lingard, J. Purcell and W. Kirkland; auditor, Jlr. A. Fraser.
