( « MANAWATU GAMES. Palmerston North, August 3. Expectations of an interesting game when Athletic and St. Andrew’s met in the senior league of the Manawatu Association competition to-day ran high, but in spite of the fact that the ground was better than it had been for some time, the game was a dull one, St. Andrews winning by four goals to one. Neither team showed much combination. In spite of it being his first game this season, Tarrant, St. Andrew’s new goalie, gave a good exhibition. Neither side fielded a full team in the R.S.A. v. Feilding game, and by mutual arrangement, short time was played. Both sides were fairly evenly matched, however, Feilding showing more initiative in attack than in previous .games. The match resulted in a win for R. by 4 goals to 2. McAvenue (2), S. Gardiner and Baigent scored for R.S.A., and Hunt and Davis found the net for Feilding. ™ Rangers defaulted to Flock House owing to transport difficulties. Games in the primary competition were resumed to-day after an interval of some weeks and resulted as follow :— Terrace End (2) beat Central (1), College Street (4) beat Te Awe Awe (1).
