LOSS OVER £28,000
GREENMEADOWS MISSION FIRE INSURANCE ONLY £lOOO. By Telegraph—Press Assbclation. Napier,« July 31. The value, of the wine destroyed hjr fire at the Greenmeadows Mission Station last night is estimated at £23,000, the building at £1,400 and the plant at £5,000, a total of £29,400. The only insurance was a policy for £lOOO. The plant will be replaced in time to cope with the coming season’s grape crop, but it will be three years before any further wine is ready for marketing. All that was saved was 1800 gallons of last season’s vintage. Some of the large casks destroyed were forty years old. 'and of. much greater value than casks of new timbei with which they may have j;o be replaced.
