DISPUTE WITH THE VATICAN Australian Press Association. (Rec. July 31, 7.5 p.m.) London, July 31. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Vatican City correspondent has been informed that high Vatican circles condemn Lord Strickland’s rejoinder to the Pope’s letter to the Bishop of Malta and Gozo as offensive and inaccurate. It is understood that Cardinal Gasparri (Pontificial Secretary of State) will reply.
