A good story is being told at Bluff of a certain native and his pakeha friend, the two comprising the crew of a small ketch running on a recent occasion to Stew-art Island. It happened that a cow was part of their cargo, and halfway across the straits the pakeha decided that fresh milk would not be amiss Thereupon he secured n doubtful looking tin and proceeded to squeeze out. with i great deal of labour, sufficient milk to satisfy their immediate needs. ‘,‘Hori’ noticed the act, and admonished bis friend: ’*Py kori, big fine broaching' cargo.” That, is as far as the story goes.
