NO INCREASE
MANAWATU COUNTY RATES.

Palmerston North. June 17.
That the council would be able to carry on the year’s operations without, increasing the rates was reported by the treasurer at the annual meeting to-day of the Manawatu County Council. Good progress, it was stated, was being made with the permanent roads in the county, which were being constructed partly with the aid of the Main Highways Board subsidy. . , , Mr W. E. Barber was again elected chairman.
