BANKRUPT BLACKSMITH
Palmerston Norf It. April 18. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt, estate of an 'Ashhurst blacksmith was held this afternoon. The Deputy-Official Assignee (Air. C. E Dempsy) stated that the assets wore nn Ashhurst property valued at £2OO. but subject to mortgages of that amount, tools £3O, and book depts £9 10s. 9d. The value of the tools being under £5O, the bankrupt was entitled to keep them. The only assets for unsecured creditors were the book debts. The deficiency would be about £7O. Bankrupt stated that he bought n blacksmith’s business for £330 on August 1 1928. and in the eight months he had been carrying on his gross receipts were only about £l5O. while his expenses were over £l9O. He was in no position to make an offer to the creditors. The meeting wa» adjourned aiae die.
