BRIDGE TO BRIDGE RACE

Wanganui, March 3; The annual bridge to bridge race was held on Saturday afternoon, over-a twomile course, and was won by J. Campbell, his time being 52min. 13sec. The race was contested by 24 swimmers, nine coniDieting the full distance, including two lady entrants. Miss Ashly, co “‘ netitor, got away at 3.15, and a space of 04 minutes elapsed before the scratch man, B. Dickson, commenced. The swimmers were well and water was encountered above pubJln Street bridge, within half a mue pt the finishing pest. A Noble, who was leadin- was forced to give up, owing to cramp.
