CARNIVAL AT TE ARO BATHS NEW RECORD ESTABLISHED Some spirited racing was seen at the Wellington Amateur Swimming Clubs carnival, held at the Te Aro Baths on Saturday. There was a large attendance of spectators, and there' were good entries in all the events. The outstanding event of the day jvas the 500 yards flying squadron championship, for the Walker and Hall Cup. Maranui, the holders, were successful m retaining it. The finish of the race was most exciting. Another good race was the 50 yards centre championship, won by O. Claridge, who. knocked l-ssec. oft the previous record, his time being zt> 4-ssec.
