HOMING PIGEONS

RACE FROM TAUMARUNUI. During the week-end the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society held its third J.H. rnce of the season. The race point was Taumarunui, distance 172 miles air? line. Twenty lofts sent 170 birds. The result was as follows :—Mr. W. Thomas's black ch. hen, 153-1928, velocity 1423 yards per minute, 1; Mr. R. Lamb's blue ch. lien, 241-1928, 1402, 2; Mr. H. Murphy’s blue cock, 610-1928. 1267, 3; Mr. I. Priest’s blue ch. cock, 331-1928,1266. 4; Mr. Padderson’s blue eh. hen, 194-1928, 1247, 5. Mr. R. Lamb's red ch. cock, 256-1928, 1244. 6. Next Saturday an interval race will be flown from Waiouru.
