BIBLE CLASS RALLY

A very successful Bible class rally was held on Sunday at the Island Bay Baptist Church under the auspices of the Wellington Baptist Young Men’s Bible Class Union. The opening meeting commenced at 3.45 p.m., witji the president, Mr. G. Scott, in the chair. A welcome was extended to the visitors by Messrs, Gibbs and Lowe, Sunday School superintendent and acting-pastor respectively. Representatives from the local Presbyterian class were present. An address on the Waikanae Youth Workers’ ' Conference was delivered by Mr. L. Greenberg, secretary of the Y.M.C.A. The object of the conference, said the speaker, was to he a clearinghouse for discussion on vital matters that effect youth ns a whole, Based along the lines of world-renowned conferences, it provided a medium for the exchange of prnctical suggestions and the consideration of problems peculiar to youth. It endeavoured to keep in touch with world movements of a similar nature, and n practical decision made was that an outstanding overseas visitor should pay a visit to New- Zealand in 1930. The conference was comprised of officially-apuoln, ted representatives from all tho Bible class movements an' l Young People’s Associations in New Zealand.

At the conclusion of the address over ninetv men sat to fen. after which the Rev. R. Edmendes. Bantist missionary of India, gave an account of nve-sent-dnv conditions in tlmf land.
