MISSING IN CHINA
BRITISH CONSUL AND NAVAL SURGEON (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) Shanghai, December 16. Considerable anxiety is felt as to the fate of Mr. John Smith, British Consul at Amoy. He is supposed to have left Shanghai on Thursday on the Chinhai, for Amoy. He is now reported not to be aboard. Surgeon-Lieuten-ant Scott, stationed on H.M.S. Cricket, has been missing since Friday. He attended a party at a local cabaret, and has not been seen since.
