APPOINTMENT OF ART MASTER

An appointment rf considerable interest was made a' a meeting of the Board of Governos of the Wellington Technical Collegelast evening, when Mr. Christopher-Perkins was elected from a large nurber of applicants for the position of Ife drawing and painting master at tie art school. Mr. Perkins, who is 3 years of age, is a draughtsman aid painter of wide experience. Forsome years he has held one-man exhflitio ns in Loudon and has shown work ;t the more important exhibitions in ingland.

Receiving.nis early art training at the Slade Ebool of Art, London, Mr. Perkins gained further experience at the British Academy, Rome, and Arena Goldoni, Jlorenee. He has bad some years of experience as an art master in Englisi schools, and among his more recent pivate work is a series of portraits ofeminent living composers. Mr. Perkins's application was strong!’ supported by Professor Henry Tonks Director of the Slade School of Art;; Professor William Rothensteiu, Direcor of the Royal College of Art; Dr. Russell, the keeper of the Royal Academy ; Professor Hind, assistant kee , er of prints at the British Museum : an, Mr. Roger Fry. It is expected that hewill leave England early in the New Y-ar, accompanied by Mrs. Perkins and hs three children.
