ELECTRIC LIGHT SPORTS MEETING
.A first-class programme of athletic events has been arranged for the electric light sports meeting to by held at the Basin Reserve to-night. No doubt a good deal of interest will be taken in the onemile cycle contest —the second of a series of races to decide the all-round chainpion. One of those taking fnirt in thfi competition, L. Butler, has been challenged by J. A. Foote, and a race between them is to be held to-morrow ni-ht. In addition to the all-round championship event, other cycle races are •included in the programme and, as usual, they should account for some thrill nig and interesting riding. Among the athletes competing will be Jenkins, Fleming, Leech and Allan, as well as many others who have shown much P«» nl se ™ previous gatherings There will also be events for the lady athletes, "ho will be well represented.
