STORE AT THAMES DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association.’ Thames, November 23. A fire at 1.30 this morning completely destroyed a large building in Brown Street used as a store, belonging tb Messrs. A. and G. Price. The origin is unknown, and the building was well ablaze when the alarm was given, threatening a row of two-story shops opposite. The brigade made a splendid save of a new residence and an adjoining stable which used to be the Scotia Hotel in the early Thames days, and was afterwards converted into a drill hall for the Hauraki Rifles and Thames Scottish Volunteers, finally being used as Hawke’s stables, from which in the later gold days a regular coach time-table was run to Coromandel, Paeroa, Te Arolia, and Waihi.
