Some amusement was caused in the .Hamilton Magistrate’s Court when Mr. R. D, McFarland asked for postponement of judgment against a client who was sued for a debt (says the "Waikato Times”). Mr. W. .7, King, on behalf of the judgment creditor, opposed the adjournment. Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., ruled that the case could be adjourned for one week, defendant to pay costs, 10s. 6d. “Oh, in that case I’ll consent to judgment right away,” said Mr. McFarland, as the Court smiled. There seems to be every indication that if Sir Joseph Ward does form a Cabinet, Kaipara, which for so long has had a Cabinet Minister in Parliament, will still be represented, as it is on the cards that the newly-elected member for Eden, Mr. A. J. Stull worthy, will hold the rank of Minister of Education (says the “North Auckland Times”). Although representing an Auckland scat, Mr. Stallworthy, who spent practically the whole of liis life on the Northern Wuiroa, may still be regarded as a Kaipara man. “Bull” as an inn sign Indicnles that the tavern was licensed under seal of the local abbe to sell only beer of monastic brewing. The NX and XXX marks on the barrels of ale represent the monks’ seals, gtiaranleering the quality of the contents.
