VIRULENT PNEUMONIC INFLUENZA
EPIDEMIC IN AUSTRALIA Sydney, November 22. An epidemic of a virulent form of pneumonic influenza in the Leeton irrigation area is causing grave concern. The Government is asked to send medical and nursing assistance. (Rec. November 22, 8.30 p.m.) Sydney, November 22. The Minister of Health has sent nurses to the Leeton irrigation area on the Victorian border, where pneumonic influenza is raging. Additional nurses have volunteered from Melbourne, where influenza is also bad. Four deaths have occurred in the staff of one shop. There have been nine deaths at Leeton, but none during the last few days. _________
