AMERICAN VOTERS
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION NEARLY HALF WOMEN HOW THEY MAY VOTE (United Service.) Washington, October 20. Fifty-eight million American citizens are eligible to vote at the election on November 6 and twenty-eight and a half millions, or 49 per cent., are. women. Since the nation-wide enfranchisement of women established in 1920 the highest, total of women attending the polls at any election has been 9,500.000. But in previous contests since women voted there was no great issue like Prohibition. Both sides expect a much larger women’s vote this year. In the last two elections women voted individually, just the same as men. This year it is claimed that a-great preponderance of women will be found on the “dry” side.
