INFECTIOUS DISEASES

DIPHTHERIA LESS PREVALENT Sixty-eight cases of infectious disease were reported to the district health authorities for the week ended at noon yesterday, this being seven less notifications than for the previous seven days. Scarlet fever notifications have fallen from 36 to 35 and diphtheria from 15 to 6. In the previous bulletin there were 13 cases of diphtheria recorded for Central Wellington alone, whereas in the latest figures only four cases are recorded in that area.
